  1. Branding and marketing. Together, but not the same.

Branding is part of marketing, and marketing is part of branding. They overlap, but each has a different job. When we do your branding, we don't come up with Instagram reels.

Two forms side by side: a white brand block made of twelve tiles with drawings, and a colourful swarm of marketing formats.
  2. Branding says who you are

Who the company is for, what it promises, how it differs from competitors, how it looks and how it speaks. These decisions give rise to the name, mark, colours, typefaces, tone and the rules the whole company follows.

A block made of twelve tiles pulled apart, each tile with a drawing: audience, promise, differentiator, name, logo, colours, typefaces, tone of voice, photography, icons, key visual, templates.
  3. Marketing makes sure people find out

Campaigns, ads, posts, reels, newsletters, trade fairs and promotions. It changes every week. What counts is reach, enquiries and sales.

A swarm of thousands of colourful formats: reels, posts, banners and leaflets.
  4. Marketing without a brand is noise

Every campaign looks different, every post says something else. Customers see the ad, but a week later they can't remember whose it was.

Formats scattered at random, each in different colours.
  5. A brand without marketing sits in a drawer

The best identity achieves nothing if nobody sees it. Logo guidelines on a hard drive don't sell anything.

The brand block alone in the dark, in a single beam of light from above.
  6. Each runs through the other

The brand gives every ad its shape, colour and tone. And every ad, post and conversation with a sales rep adds something to how people see the brand.

Formats flow through the brand block and come out in its colours, while the block glows from within.
  7. The brand sets the direction. Marketing sets the pace

A brand changes rarely and after careful thought. Marketing never stands still. They only work together when each does its own job.

Formats in the brand colours circle the block in an even ring.
  8. We design how your posts look. Not what they're about

As part of branding, we give your team the brand and templates in the tools it already works with. Your marketing team or agency turns them into posts, reels and campaigns. Every post looks like your brand.

A wall of posts, reels and banners built from one system, with the brand block in front of it.

One within the other

Branding is part of marketing.

Marketing is everything a company does to sell: product, price, distribution and communication. The brand is the foundation of that puzzle. Without it, every campaign starts from zero and each one says something different.

Marketing is part of branding.

A brand takes shape in customers' minds, from every contact with the company. An ad, a post, an offer, a trade fair stand. Each of these contacts either builds the brand or blurs it.

Two different jobs

The same company, two different questions

Aspect Branding Marketing
Question Who are we and how are we different? Who will hear about us and what will they do?
Changes Rarely. These are decisions for years. Constantly. One campaign chases the next.
Delivers Customers recognise the company and know what to expect from it. Enquiries, website traffic and sales.
Measured by Recognition, trust and how much customers are willing to pay. Reach, clicks, the number of enquiries and sales.

Scope

Branding isn't a posting schedule.

When you order branding from us, we work out how the brand looks and sounds and give your team ready-made tools. What you publish and when is marketing.

What you get

  • Strategy: who you're for, what you promise and how you differ.
  • A name, if you need one.
  • A mark and the whole identity: colours, typefaces, photos and icons.
  • Tone of voice: how the brand speaks and which words it avoids.
  • A key visual that campaigns grow out of.
  • A brandbook and templates in the tools your team works with.

What you don't get

  • Ideas for reels or a publishing plan.
  • Running your social media profiles.
  • Setting up campaigns or an ad budget.
  • Replying to comments.

That's separate work, with a different rhythm and a different budget. It's usually done by your marketing department or an agency you already work with. We make sure they have something solid to work with.

Where they meet

This is where branding ends and marketing begins

Grupa Dawtona

For Grupa Dawtona we built a system of post templates in Figma. Designers in Dawtona's marketing team copy a template, change the headline, photo and product, and make new posts without us. Every one looks like Dawtona.

  • Post: “American corn? No, it's our Dawtona. From Błonie.” with cans of sweetcorn.
  • Post: “Spanish tomatoes? No, Polish ones. From Dawtona. From Błonie.” with passata and tomatoes.
  • Post: “Mexican beans? No, it's our Dawtona. From Błonie.” with a can of red kidney beans.
  • Post: “Faraway plantations? No, these are Dawtona's fields. From Błonie.” with a tomato field.
  • Post: “Italian passata? No, it's our Dawtona. From Błonie.” with two bottles of passata.
  • Post: “Fruit mousse? No. Seriously strawberry. From Dawtona.” with strawberry mousse.
  • Post: “Luxury in a jar? No. Just standard from Dawtona.” with a jar of gherkins.
  • Post: “Fairy-tale peas? No. From Dawtona. From Błonie.” with a can of peas.
